For properties recognized up to 1,500 square meters, compensation will be up to 200 square meters By LORENC RABETA The government has planned that during 2013 it will use 1.8 billion lekë from the state budget, approximately 18 million dollars, for cash compensation of former owners. The figure was proposed by the Council of Ministers in the draft budget for 2013, which last week was approved at the government meeting and then discussed in parliamentary committees before the final vote in the Assembly. Meanwhile, just a few days ago the government also announced that it has doubled the fund to be used this year for owners’ compensation from 1.5 billion lekë to 3 billion lekë (approximately around 30 million dollars). The doubling of the fund for this year came together with the decision that defines the procedures through which compensation will be made as well as the financial amounts that owners will receive.
