Leonid Abramov: Rama is right, Albania was left alone. I accepted the government’s decision with understanding. Putin’s guidance on the Friendship Treaty must be based on mutual interest

A nuclear-capable vessel in the Eastern Mediterranean? Why has the Albania-Russia Friendship Treaty been held up since 2004? Is Serbia “hindering” the development of relations between Tirana and Moscow? In his first interview for the print press, Russia’s ambassador, Leonid Abramov, sheds light on many questions surrounding the Albania-Russia diplomatic relationship. In a long account for “GSH”, Abramov welcomes the decision of the Albanian government and society to say “No” to chemical weapons from Syria. “Albania was left alone, I understand Rama’s decision,” he says.
1- Mr. Ambassador, a few days ago the Albanian government made an important decision regarding the issue of Syrian chemical weapons by saying “NO” to its involvement in this operation. From Russia’s point of view, how was this decision by Albania regarded or received?
