Mr. Panariti, although Albania is a largely agricultural country, it seems that this sector has been somewhat neglected. What is your vision for giving agriculture the importance it deserves? The absolute priority and the essence of my vision for agricultural development are the management and care of land and water. Equally important for competitive, market-oriented agriculture are the implementation of quality and safety standards throughout the entire agricultural production chain, from the farm to the table. Without care and respect for the land, without increasing and consolidating its area, there can be no agricultural development. Leaving land fallow, uncultivated and degraded means leaving Albania barren, depriving it of producing, besides plants, animals and food for its population, and unfairly taking away its opportunities for economic development and well-being.
