For the first time in its history, the Democratic Party ranked as the second force in Lazarat, its main stronghold during these 22 years of pluralism. The winner this time was the Republican Party, with candidate Roland Bejko, who in a statement to “Gazeta Shqiptare” listed yesterday the reasons for this triumph. “The first reason is that I am a boy from Lazarat and for a long time I was a local PD leader. The votes in my favor were personal votes, secured also by the fact that I have fought hard for the return of property to its owner. I had the conservative elements of the right with me. The other reason is that this time the vote for the PR was a vote against PD’s Spiro Ksera, who disappointed the Democrats of Lazarat,” he said.
