The elected prime minister, Edi Rama, stated yesterday in an interview for “Top Channel” that the new government aims to raise Albanian diplomacy to an unprecedented level. Regarding visits to Turkey and Greece, Rama said these are meetings in the service of a strategic partnership stretching between Italy, Turkey and Greece. Asked whether he had spoken with Prime Minister Samaras and Minister Venizelos about the maritime border issue, Rama said that, “it is naturally an issue that cannot be left out of the talks, it is an issue on which we have a known position, it is an issue for which we have every will to solve, and it is an issue on which even the neighbors are interested in finding a solution, and I am convinced that with goodwill and mutual trust there is nothing that cannot be resolved.” As for relations with Greece, Rama said that: “With Greece there is a moment that must be overcome, after a difficult period in relations between the two countries, for well-known reasons.
