Selami Xhepa: Reduce non-essential funding By DARINA TANUSHI The new “Rama” government has decided to cut transport expenses by around 165 million lek for MPs, deputy ministers and several commissions and bodies operating in Albania. The draft law prepared by the government, published by “Vizion Plus”, makes it clear that from the 45,000 lek that these expenses have been for the MPs’ category, now only 40,000 lek will be allocated for transportation expenses for the movers. Meanwhile, a large category including deputy ministers, the deputy chairman of the HJC, as well as heads of institutions and authorities operating in Albania, who were receiving 35,000 lek for transport expenses, will now receive only 20,000 lek. This draft law does not refer to ministers, the Speaker of Parliament or the head of the State Intelligence Service. This draft law covers 14 positions, including, besides deputy ministers and MPs, the chair of the Civil Service Commission, the chair of the Commissioner... Continues on page 3
