The MPs of the NEW Assembly will have the opportunity to take part in government meetings and all institutions. A change in the “status of the deputy” gives the elected representatives on the people’s list the right to be present at Council of Ministers meetings when issues affecting the district where they were elected are discussed there. In fact, under the new status, MPs have the right to be in any central or local institution when problems raised by them are being examined. “The deputy has the right to participate in meetings of the Council of Ministers, in ministries or in other central and local institutions, when issues raised by him and related to the district where he was elected are being discussed in them,” says Article 9 of the status of the deputy, which was voted on in Parliament on 30 May of this year, that is, in the last parliamentary session. On 4 June, President Nishani decreed the changes to the status of the deputy, which were made at the proposal of some of the current deputies...
