IMF: Public borrowing, the highest in the Balkan region By LORENC RABETA As the Socialist Party’s accusations continued yesterday regarding the prolonged delay in December wages for administration employees, Finance Minister Ridvan Bode responded that more than 90% of them have been paid and that only those institutions which did not submit payroll lists on time are dealing with this problem. During a press interview yesterday, the head of Finance explained that anyone can personally consult the payment situation on the Ministry’s official website, mocking the accusation that the delay is due to a lack of funds, saying that the only delayed ones are those institutions for which the New Year’s holiday drink took a little longer to kick in. “You can consult the ministry’s website. Hundreds and thousands of payments are made every day. There you have salaries and pensions. Whoever has not managed to prepare the payroll lists because the New Year’s drink came a little late will receive them in the coming days,” said the minister... Continues on page 3
