In an interview for “Gazeta Shqiptare”, Lek Hajdari, head of the Payments Sector for Compensation of former Political Prisoners, explains the time frame in which the 3 billion lek fund (around 30 million dollars) made available by the government for this purpose will be distributed. According to Lekë Hajdari, the fund will be received by the relatives of former convicts who are still alive, according to a statistically determined chronological order. The compensation sector will publish the names of the beneficiaries in the media every two weeks, and the compensation amounts will be transferred to their bank accounts.
