The parliamentary Committee on Laws yesterday approved, with only the votes of the Democrats, the dismissal from office of the LSI member of the Central Election Commission, Ilirjan Muho. The decision was taken after a request signed by the head of the PD parliamentary group, Astrit Patozi, who asked the Speaker of Parliament, Jozefina Topalli, to start without delay the procedures for replacing the LSI member on the CEC, in order to respect the political balance in this institution because of LSI’s move into opposition. For its part, the CEC itself still has no official decision on replacing the LSI member with the PR member. Based on the 2009 result, PR is currently the second most important party in the right-wing camp after the Democratic Party.
