The Inter-Academic Council of the Albanian Language is meeting in Tirana to discuss some of the issues of contemporary Albanian. Professor Jani Thomai, co-chair of this body for Albania, explains in an interview with “Gazeta Shqiptare” the main topics of the meeting. While emphasizing that there is nothing to worry about, since the foundations of Albanian are not being altered, he says that four issues will be addressed: a) the spelling of unstressed vowels; the spelling of some words with or with l; the spelling of some words that have double letters; and of some words with vowel clusters, ua, ue, oo such as zooteknik, eti.
