With the charge of abandonment of duty, manipulation of the tally sheets and alteration of the election result, the Central Election Commission decided yesterday by 4 votes in favor to file a criminal complaint against 50 commissioners and counters in the Lezhë district. “With the decision to file criminal complaints against the persons entrusted with administering the voting process and counting the votes, let us hope that in the upcoming elections these two things will serve all commissioners so that such things will no longer happen. The transparency of the voting quotas, their opening and the taking of these measures should ensure that tomorrow these commissioners will be responsible for what they undertake to do,” said shortly before the decision was taken, the chairwoman of the CEC, Lefterie Lleshi. The Central Election Commission exposed the facts of the manipulation of the minutes after opening and counting 10 ballot boxes in the Lezhë district, from which it emerged that, because of distortions in the result by commissioners and counters, the Democratic Party had been deprived of one parliamentary mandate.
