The clash took place yesterday morning, between the Enforcement Office and the clergy. Enforcement carried out a decision of the Constitutional Court, ordering that the House of Culture in the Municipality of Përmet, occupied 16 years earlier by the Orthodox Church, be returned. But the enforcement officers encountered resistance from Orthodox priests, as well as believers who were in the church. The representatives of Enforcement, backed by private security, intervened by force, removing Church icons, bells, and other materials from the House of Culture. The enforcement officers removed the cross from the building of the House of Culture and placed the Albanian flag there.
