Edi Rama will begin his journey as the country’s new Prime Minister by taking the oath on the Constitution and then sitting in the chair of the head of government. On the day he climbs the stairs to the second floor of the Prime Minister’s Office building, Rama will find everything ready to begin work. Sali Berisha has prepared all the documentation for the regular continuation of government work. The files will be handed over to him by the Secretary General of the Prime Minister’s Office, Gjergj Lezhja. Sources close to the prime minister say there will be no handover ceremony between the two prime ministers, but Lezhja will handle the symbolic protocol for the occasion. On the day he takes office, Edi Rama will be received at the Prime Minister’s Office by the Secretary General and the head of Protocol, Nadia Qesia. Sources from the Prime Minister’s Office said Berisha did not make it mandatory to hold a special ceremony for his successor Edi Rama, nor to receive him in his office to hand over the work.
