Reburial at the Martyrs’ Cemetery is an acknowledgment of his figure and of the contribution he made to pluralism in the country... Fatmira Hajdari, the widow of the former Democratic Party MP who was executed on the evening of 12 September 1998, a few meters from the headquarters of the party he founded, describes the tribute being paid to him on the 15th anniversary of his death as a “resurrection” of Azem Hajdari. The Court of Appeal judge does not hesitate to say that Azem Hajdari should have been buried as a Martyr on the day he was killed, but according to her it is never too late to recognize the values and contributions of a man, especially of the Leader of December. Asked whether left-wing figures will be present at the ceremony, Mrs. Hajdari says that many important figures within the left know and appreciate Azem Hajdari’s contribution.
