PS, LUNCH IN LINZË
Rama to MPs: The coffers are empty
The Prime Minister informs his own about the difficult financial situation. MPs,
ministers: Make the appointments as quickly as possible, we are under pressure from the party base
Prime Minister Edi Rama
yesterday organized a working
lunch with the MPs of the
Socialist parliamentary group
to “report” on the first
appointments made by the
government as well as on the
financial situation in which
the country finds itself. The
meeting, which lasted for
about 3 hours, was held
away from the capital, in one
of the luxurious restaurants
in Linzë, in the Dajti
municipality, where Prime
Minister Rama together with
his ministers discussed with
the MPs the need to support
in Parliament the government’s
initiatives. Sources from the
meeting held behind closed
doors told “Gazeta Shqiptare”
that during this working lunch,
the MPs asked the ministers
to complete the appointments
as soon as possible, arguing
that pressure is being exerted
on them by militants to get
jobs in the public administration.
According to the same sources,
it is also learned that Prime
Minister Rama asked the MPs
to consider the grave economic
situation which, according to
him, had been left behind by
the “Berisha” government,
emphasizing several times the
claim that “we found the state
coffers almost empty”.
