With these words said to the family, the doctor at Berat hospital sent away a patient, who a few minutes later would be found dead. Elvira Leshi, mother of four children, had arrived in serious condition at Kuçovë hospital and after receiving first aid, the doctors sent her to Berat hospital. Finding herself from one hospital to another, careless treatment and the failure to determine the diagnosis accurately led to the woman’s death. One year after the serious incident, the Berat Prosecutor’s Office has completed the investigation and charged two doctors, Petrit B. and Petrit T., as well as nurse Merushe T. with negligent treatment. “GSH” is publishing in full the sad story of the woman who died because of the doctors’ negligence. The prosecutor’s file states that on 12.10.2012, at around 12:40, near the Emergency service of Kuçovë Hospital, patient Elvira Leshi, from the village of Velagosh, Kuçovë, presented herself for medical help.
