HERE ARE THE TAXES AND DUTIES THAT WILL UNDERGO CHANGES Funds are cut by 40% for former political prisoners and by 15% for property compensation. There will be no salary or pension increases, except for the police and the judiciary By LORENC RABETA The 2014 draft budget does not foresee salary or pension increases, meaning that pensions will only be indexed to the inflation rate. In the draft to be discussed today in Parliament, the Council of Ministers foresees salary increases only for the judicial system, the prosecution service and the State Police. “The forecast does not include any fund for a general salary increase in the public administration,” states the draft law on next year’s budget. Judiciary and policeThe draft foresees the implementation of the wage-increase policy for the judicial system and the prosecution service, starting from the date the relevant law enters into force (January 2014), with an effect of 200 million lekë. Nevertheless, this budget provides for a fund of 1 billion lekë for increasing the salaries of the State Police, support for a highly priority sector under current conditions, where order and security...
