Mr. Panariti, although Albania is a predominantly agricultural country, this sector seems to have been somewhat neglected. What is your vision for giving agriculture the importance it deserves? The absolute priority and core of my vision for agricultural development are the management and care of land and water. Equally important for competitive, market-oriented agriculture is the implementation of quality and safety standards throughout the entire agricultural production chain, from the farm to the table. Without care and respect for the land, without increasing and consolidating the area, there can be no agricultural development. Leaving land fallow, uncultivated and degraded means leaving Albania barren, depriving it of the ability to produce plants, animals and food for its population, and unfairly stripping it of the opportunities for economic development and well-being.
