Basha: Profit tax for garment subcontractors, LSI should join our amendment By LORENC RABETA Yesterday, the parliamentary Committee on Economy and Finance rejected the LSI’s proposal to keep the income tax rate for garment subcontractors at 10%. During the discussion, both on the article and in general on the draft law “On the 2014 budget,” government representatives on the committee argued that, in addition to reducing budget revenues, the approval of this proposal would discriminate against other businesses. The LSI has definitely promised a change in the level of this tax, while the SP has announced that the tax will be raised to 15%. At the end of the discussions, the committee approved article by article the draft law “On the 2014 budget,” which together with the fiscal package will go to a vote in the plenary session on 28 December 2013. On behalf of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Movement for Integration, MP Përparim Spahiu presented several amendments, which concerned the transfer of at least 20% of the revenues...
