The postponement of the second compensation installment for former political prisoners begins this week and will end in June of this year. In an interview with “Gazeta Shqiptare,” Lek Hajdari, head of the Compensation Payments Sector for former political prisoners, explains the time frame in which the 3 billion lek fund (around 30 million dollars) made available by the government for this purpose will be distributed. According to Lek Hajdari, the fund will be received by the relatives of deceased former convicts who are still alive, according to a chronologically determined order. The compensation sector will publish every two weeks in the media the names of the beneficiaries, who will have the compensation amount transferred to their bank accounts.
