With these words said to family members, the doctor at the Berat hospital sent away a patient who a few minutes later would be found dead. Elvira Leshi, mother of four children, had arrived in a serious condition at the hospital in Kuçovë and after receiving the first treatment, the doctors sent her on to the hospital in Berat. The back-and-forth from one hospital to another, the careless treatment, the failure to establish a correct diagnosis, resulted in the woman’s death. One year after the serious घटना, the Berat Prosecutor’s Office has completed the investigation and charged the two doctors, Petrit B. and Petrit T., as well as the nurse Merushe T. “GSH” is publishing in full the sad story of the woman who died because of the doctors’ negligence. The prosecutor’s file states that on 12.10.2012, around 12:40, at the Emergency Service of Kuçovë Hospital, patient Elvira Leshi, from the village of Velagosht, Kuçovë, appeared seeking medical help.
