Dozens of judges across the country have been accused by citizens of corrupt dealings, or of issuing unfair rulings in blatant violation of the law. In the High Council of Justice, during just these 9 months of 2013, 539 complaints against judges have been submitted, referring to various issues. Officially, the institution of the High Council of Justice confirms that most of the citizens’ complaints have been verified and, in the end, 9 judges are found to have committed serious violations in office.
“For 2013, the number of complaints received is 539. After verifying most of them, 25 judges were found to have minor violations, while in 9 cases, where the violations committed by the judges were serious, the verification results, according to the legal procedure, were sent to the Minister of Justice for the initiation of disciplinary proceedings against the respective judges,” said a source from the High Council of Justice.
