At the coffee table in the home of the late chief commissioner Dritan Lamaj, who was executed just a few steps from his house with 28 bullets, it is heavy and cold, just like the night on which he left this world. In the house there is mourning and pain, as many friends and relatives offer their condolences to the family. The pain seems to have crushed the heart of the chief commissioner’s mother, while his wife, Anila, can barely stand from the pain of losing her husband. At one point comes the news that the two perpetrators of the crime, Arben Frroku and Jak Jaku, have been arrested in Thessaloniki. “I knew it was them...,” says Dritan’s wife, Anila. Her statement raises suspicions that his family knew something about the conflicts between the former chief of the Kombinat police station and businessman Arben Frroku. The latter has occasionally also sent threats or leaflets...
