In Korçë, Shkodër and Kavajë sales continue By LORENC RABETA Over the past few weeks, the Council of Ministers has transferred to residents’ ownership a considerable number of buildings within former plants and industrial complexes, which are effectively used for housing purposes. The director of the National Housing Agency, Ylli Piro, explains to “Gazeta Shqiptare” why the need arose to privatize these buildings and the steps citizens must follow to obtain the ownership titles. According to the head of the NHA, the need to transfer ownership of these buildings arose because for years they had been diverted from their intended purpose and used by families as housing units. In this way, he says, a social problem is being solved, while at the same time a considerable number of buildings that had so far been informal are being formalized.
