Basha: Profit tax for apparel companies, let the LSI join our amendment By LORENC RABETA The parliamentary Committee on Economy and Finance yesterday rejected the LSI’s proposal to keep the income tax rate for apparel manufacturers at 10%. During the discussion, article by article and in general, of the draft law “On the 2014 budget”, government representatives on the committee argued that, besides reducing budget revenue, approving this proposal would discriminate against other businesses. The LSI had pledged that this tax rate would remain unchanged, while the PS stated that the tax would rise to 15%. At the end of the discussions, the committee approved article by article the draft law “On the 2014 budget”, which together with the fiscal package will go to a vote in the plenary session on 28 December 2013. On behalf of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Movement for Integration, MP Përparim Spahiu presented several amendments concerning the transfer of at least 20% of the revenue...
