Motives remain a mystery By KLODIANA HAXHIAJ Well-known businessman from Durrës, Ilir Hoxha, seriously wounded in an assassination attempt. The 42-year-old was hit by a burst of Kalashnikov fire near his home. Official sources from the Directorate of the Durrës County Police stated that the serious incident happened last night at the place known as “4 rrugët e Shijakut”, near the Hoxha family home. The assassination attempt on the father of two children has alarmed the police. Numerous police forces have “sealed off” Shijak and are searching for the perpetrators of the crime. Meanwhile, sources close to the investigation team claim that Ilir Hoxha was known as a problematic person and had a file for narcotics trafficking. According to the case investigators, several lines of inquiry are being pursued to fully clarify the circumstances of this event.
