The super-swindler also “ruined” students for 1 thousand lek A major fraud scheme was uncovered by the Fier police, which arrested 29-year-old Ledjan Muçaraku, accused of having defrauded around 900 people. He would lend money to students and businessmen, then take it back in cash later and finally sue them, accusing them precisely of not returning the money. The fraudulent amounts went up to 250 thousand euros. Muçaraku faces up to 10 years in prison for fraud. The Economic and Financial Crimes Directorate of the General Directorate of the State Police, in cooperation with the Fier Regional Police Directorate, concluded yesterday the police operation “Black Tie”, during which Ledjan Nasif Muçaraku, aged 29, from Grykë Seman Fier, previously prosecuted once for corruption in Vlorë, was detained; he is suspected of having created a scheme for laundering criminal proceeds through loan contracts with interest.
