I don’t know what happened to my friend.” Shaken, Daniel Spahiu tells “Gazeta Shqiptare” how he managed to escape the raging waters of the Erzen canyons. “I leaned down to wash my hands and the current swept me away. It was very powerful,” says the 18-year-old, who is still visibly shaken. This can be seen in his hands, which tremble constantly, and in his eyes, which seem as though they want to picture something, but the mind refuses. “I don’t want to remember what happened,” Daniel says. He and his friend, Erjon Alizoti, accidentally fell on Sunday afternoon in the Erzen canyons. Nearly three days after the event, there is still no news about the finding of Alizoti, who is believed to have fallen into the waters of this river.
