KRT members, a fee of 20 thousand lekë for each meeting By LORENC RABETA In addition to income from their salaries, senior government officials also benefit from significant extra income, thanks to being chairmen or members (at the same time) of a long list of state boards, councils and commissions. Income from participation in these commissions ranges from 5 thousand to 20 thousand lekë for each participation, while it should be noted that some of them meet up to 12 times a year. Their income can reach up to 240 thousand lekë from participation in just one board, while some senior government leaders are simultaneously part of several of them. Through the decision published in the Official Gazette, the Council of Ministers has determined the list of the “name of each council, board or commission, the number of members in its composition, the maximum number of payments in one year regardless of the number of meetings held, as well as the amount of the payment for the chairman and members for each council,...
