The Interior Minister, Saimir Tahiri, sends another letter to the country’s president, Bujar Nishani, in his capacity as chairman of the High Council of Justice. In this letter, the minister has expressed his concern about the consequences caused by certain court decisions, which, according to the minister, are not only absurd but also carry a high degree of irresponsibility. Minister Tahiri’s reaction comes after the event three days earlier, when two citizens were executed, one of whom had serious criminal records and had been released from prison by a court decision not long before. “The Court of Appeals, with the judicial panel Edmond Goga, Fatmira Hajdari and Gramoz Levanaj, by decision no. 215, dated 25.02.2014, changed the security measure from “arrest in prison” to “obligation to appear before the Judicial Police” for the defendant Gjin Nika, born on 28.04.1978, from Bulqiza, accused of criminal offences.
