By AURORA KOROMANI The investigation into the massive theft at the Bank of Albania has focused on four key issues: the full verification of the theft mechanism in the bank’s vault; the destination of the stolen amount, which is currently believed to be 713 million lekë; asset investigations into the persons suspected of being involved in the theft; and verification of responsibilities for the administration and organization of work, as well as for the implementation of the legal and sub-legal framework regulating the bank’s activity. This is the official version of the General Prosecutor’s Office regarding the progress of the investigation into the super-scandal involving the Bank of Albania. According to the prosecution, the actions of the bank employees suspected of being involved in the theft have been verified not only through video footage, but also through the official records in which all the evidence the investigative team has managed to gather regarding the theft of 713 million lekë from the bank’s Treasury has been noted ...
