It was 27 June 1973, when the third session of the work of the Fourth Plenum had begun in the central hall of the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Party of Labour, which had been convened personally by Enver Hoxha in order to judge and condemn the personalities of Albanian art and culture, Fadil Paçrami and Todi Lubonja. In the two sessions held the day before, after Enver Hoxha, Yashar Mezenxhiu, Manusha Myftiu, Hekuran Isai, Rrapi Gjermeni and Hynsi Kapo had spoken in turn. The third session, which began at 09:00 on the second day of the plenum’s proceedings, started precisely with the speech of Ramiz Alia, who was the person in charge of ideology and propaganda in the Central Committee of the Party. Ramiz Alia was perhaps one of the people who could be most heavily targeted at that plenum.
