Arben Zylyftari would be alive if the police had acted on the basis of a plan of measures...”. That is the position of Adriatik Alimadhi, now head of the Balli Kombëtar party, then former Police Chief in Shkodra. For the first time, he tells his version of the killing of Colonel Zylyftari on 2 August 2000, during the operation to capture Bahri Tafili. “No matter how dangerous Bahri Tafili and his sons were, and however he or they were regarded; if it had been thought through and studied, and the proper security measures taken, with a plan of measures, nothing would have happened; there were ways, circumstances, other measures and safe ways to carry out an operation. No matter how criminal the killing act or how dangerous the person may have been, nobody has ever defeated the police and the state historically,” Alimadhi says. According to him, if the investigative group has not substantially completed the file on this event, at the request of those interested, why not, today the possibilities...
