The fate of hundreds of constructions remains a mystery By KLODIANA LALA The head of the Rrashbull Commune, Hysen Gashi, and five of his officials have been charged and arrested, as they are accused of abuse of office. Three other members of the KRT will be investigated while free, as the court imposed on them only the security measure of “obligation to appear”. “The officials are accused of abuse of office in granting construction permits in the sand belt in the Shkëmbi i Kavajës area. The investigation has found that, in at least 16 cases, these officials granted permits for the construction of multi-storey buildings in blatant violation of the law, in this area where construction is absolutely not allowed, based on the relevant decisions of the National Council for Territorial Regulation of Albania (KKRTRSH),” the prosecution’s file states. According to the prosecutor’s office, the investigation into the officials began in February 2014, following information from the regional directorate, which reported that there were constructions in the Shkëmbi i Kavajës area...
