The Democrats are expected to make sweeping changes to their “Constitution,” the PD statute, in order to adapt it to the current reality. Alongside the process of new elections, PD will also deal with changes to the statute, for which a working group will soon be set up, and it is not ruled out that leader Sali Berisha and acting secretary general Ridvan Bode may also be part of it. This group will examine all proposals for changes to the PD founding document. It will be a special commission that reviews all proposals and, if necessary, submits them for approval to the central bodies according to their competencies. It is understood that the changes to the 2009 statute aim to strengthen the grassroots base of PD, starting with the expansion of the powers of the sections and sub-sections, all the way to the leadership bodies and the party’s main forums....
