Based on this model, the candidates for mayors and municipal heads will then also be determined. The Minister of State for Local Government, Bledi Çuçi, explained yesterday, in an exclusive interview for “Gazeta Shqiptare”, that “the legal package must be sent for approval to Parliament before the end of this parliamentary session”. He stated that the majority wants the opposition to become part of this process, but “an ambiguous and incoherent stance from the opposition is seen, contrary to its public statements,” the minister said. According to him, “the prime minister’s latest letter sent to the chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, is tangible proof of this unwavering will of the governing majority”.
