I don’t know what happened to my friend.” Shaken, Daniel Spahiu tells “Gazeta Shqiptare” how he managed to escape the furious waters of the Erzen canyons. “I went over to wash my hands and the current swept me away. It was very strong,” says the 18-year-old, who is still visibly shocked. This can be seen in his hands, which keep trembling, and in his eyes, which seem as if they want to say something, but his mind does not comply. “I don’t want to remember what happened,” Daniel says. He and his friend Erjon Alizoti accidentally fell in the afternoon on Sunday in the Erzen canyons. Nearly three days after the incident, there is still no news about the search for Alizoti, who is believed to have fallen into the waters of this river.
