Gjin Gjoni responds: The assets were created before the marriage The High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of Assets filed yesterday with the General Prosecutor's Office a criminal complaint against the judge of the Tirana Court of Appeal, Gjin Gjoni, who is also a member of the High Council of Justice. He is suspected of hiding the sources of his wealth, falsifying various contracts with high financial values, for the purchase of vehicles or very expensive homes, for false declarations and for concealing business activities owned by his wife, Elona Çaushi, estimated at an approximate value of 2 million euros. For travel abroad alone, judge Gjoni and his wife are reported by the ILDKP to have spent about 250 thousand euros, the source of which also appears suspicious. A criminal complaint, besides against the Gjoni couple, has also been filed against the notaries Margena Çela and Gentiana Shkodra. The four of them are accused by the ILDKP of the criminal offenses of “hiding and falsely declaring assets” in collaboration, and falsification of documents. Continues on page 5
