Fear of dysentery, 10 percent of samples in Tirana test positive The Institute of Public Health issues recommendations: Chlorination should be carried out in the reservoir system By OLA MITRE About 10 percent of the water samples taken in the last month of 2013 in Tirana were found to be microbiologically contaminated or, in other words, out of standard for E. coli. The figures are reported by the Institute of Public Health, which, after processing the data received from other cities as well, finds that water contamination beyond the allowed standard is also present in 6 other cities. The city with the highest level of contamination is Koplik, with a full 47 percent of samples, followed by Lezhë, with 26.44% of the reported samples. High levels of contamination were also found in Has (23% of samples) and Peshkopi (13% of samples). A somewhat lower level of E. coli is reported in On page 9
