A major fraud scheme was uncovered by the Fier police, which arrested 29-year-old Ledjan Muçaraku, who is accused of having cheated around 900 people. He gave money on loan to students and businesspeople, took it back from them in a cash handover and finally took them to court, accusing them precisely of not returning the money. The amount involved in the fraud reaches up to 250 thousand euros. Muçaraku faces up to 10 years in prison for fraud. The Economic and Financial Crime Directorate of the General Directorate of State Police, in cooperation with the Fier Regional Police Directorate, yesterday concluded the police operation “Black Tie”, in the framework of which the citizen Ledjan Nasi Muçaraku, 29, from Grykë Seman, Fier, who had previously been prosecuted once for corruption in Vlorë, was detained. He is suspected of having created a scheme for laundering proceeds of crime through money-lending contracts with interest.
