The meeting of the Bank of Albania Supervisory Council yesterday did not pass without debate, where member Ermelinda Meksi asked the chairman, who is also the Governor, to take responsibility for everything, at all levels, for the theft at the Bank of Albania. Meksi described the event that took place at the Central Bank as "a lesson at a heavy cost." In a comment on the social network Facebook, former minister Ermelinda Meksi, who is also a professor in economics, says: "The moral and professional integrity of the individual is the guarantee that events of this kind will not be repeated. Integrity is not rhetoric; for it, accountability must be ensured and responsibility must be borne." Regarding yesterday’s Supervisory Council meeting, she clarified that "with the responsibility of a member of the Supervisory Council, I asked that, alongside the duty to review the regulatory framework brought about by the event..."
