The former number one of the Central Bank is suspected of the charge of “abuse of office,” linked to the scandal of the theft of 713 million lek from the State Treasury. Yesterday the Prosecutor’s Office submitted to the Supreme Court its appeal against the former governor, who, for the past few days since late 15 September, has been under “house arrest,” by decision of the Court of Appeal. The Prosecutor’s Office requested the annulment of the Appeal Court’s decision and the upholding of the Tirana Court decision, which imposed the security measure of “arrest in prison” ...
