Finance Minister Shkëlqim Cani in an interview for Voice of America after the meeting with the representatives of the IMF and the World Bank confirmed once again yesterday that the energy reform was also part of the discussions. As for the price of electricity, the head of Albanian finance assured that removing the 300 kV threshold will not raise the price of electricity for consumers, but on the contrary will put an end to stealing and speculation with electricity. Furthermore, the minister assured that the Albanian economy is on the path of progress, while adding that at the meeting with the IMF a more flexible fiscal package was discussed, which foresees a reduction of debt for 2015. “Standard & Poors” changed its rating for Albania from stable to positive.
