U.S. Deputy Ambassador Kate Byrnes: Kosovo should be admitted as an OSCE member By REZARTA DELISULA There was a “fuss” in the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna over Kosovo’s membership in the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. “Gazeta Shqiptare” today reveals the debate that took place at the OSCE meeting in Vienna, where representatives of Albania and the United States called for Kosovo to be admitted to this organization, while the Serbian ambassador rejected it. The Albanian ambassador, Spiro Koçi, proposed the admission of the newest state in Europe as a participant, a request also supported by the U.S. deputy ambassador, Kate Byrnes, but this was strongly opposed by the Serbian ambassador to the OSCE, Vuk Zugiç, who managed once again to block their request.
