The judicial system is completely corrupt. Politicians should not be active members of the High Council of Justice In Albania, the Spanish expert Joaquin Urias, who for four years headed the European assistance mission in the justice system, Euralius 3, says that “the overall state of justice is very bad.” In an interview with journalist Armand Mero on “Voice of America,” Urias speaks about the many problems facing the justice system. Mr. Urias, after four years in Albania, where you headed the Euralius mission, the European Union’s assistance mission for the Albanian justice system, how would you describe the situation in the judicial system and in Albanian justice? I think the overall situation of Justice is very bad. I do not want to be pessimistic, but I think that in the last four years the situation has not improved. Justice should be the key institution of the rule of law; it is the institution that guarantees that people are respecting the law.
