Ardian Bitraj, head of the Stock Vault sector, who is suspected of having stolen tens of billions of lek, has given his testimony before investigators, but only in the presence of the lawyers chosen by his family. The lawyers from the “Kushe” law firm appeared at the special prosecution office at the request of the suspect’s relatives in the theft of the century at the Bank of Albania, and so far they have not been allowed to meet him, despite their repeated insistence. Considering this a violation of human rights, the law firm has informed the People’s Advocate, Mr. Igli Totozani, about the case. The complaint letter, in which the refusal to allow them to meet Bitraj is considered a violation of his rights, was sent to the office of the People’s Advocate on Friday and it is still not known whether it has officially reached Totozani’s hands.
