Parliament was engulfed yesterday in debates and mutual accusations between the majority and the opposition over nepotism in appointments made in the public administration. The debate in Parliament began with MP Majlinda Bregu, who reminded those present that “outside the hall of this Parliament there are several hundred state administration employees who are protesting against unfair dismissals from work.” But immediately after Bregu, the Minister of Innovation, Milena Harito, reacted, mentioning some of the relatives of Democratic Party MPs who are employed in the state administration. This prompted an immediate reaction from former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, the Republican Party leader, Fatmir Mediu, and several other opposition MPs. “Are you concerned about those 7,000 people you claim, or are you concerned about your own relatives’ lists?
