We were happy that he had been released from prison and was rejoining the family. He left by taxi at around 10:15 p.m. I left so as not to see him again.” That is what Mihane Tollia, Arben Tollia’s mother, declared to the police yesterday. A few minutes later he was executed in an ambush, only 100 meters from his home in the village of Xhafzotaj. One day after the incident, official sources from the Durrës County Police Directorate said that intensive investigations are under way to identify the two people who carried out the execution of Tollia. According to these sources, 22 people have been escorted and questioned. These include eyewitnesses, relatives, neighbors, as well as people the victim met during the last two weeks (after his release from prison).
