The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati, yesterday called on the Prosecutor General, Adriatik Llalla, to open an investigation into the negotiators of the maritime pact with Greece, which was struck down on 26 January 2010 by the Constitutional Court. Speaking yesterday in a report to the parliamentary Committee on Foreign Relations, Bushati said that the working group set up by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had found serious violations in the maritime border delimitation agreement, which, as he put it, are suspected of constituting a criminal offense, implying a violation of the country’s territorial sovereignty. “This is a matter that, since it has been rejected on its merits and on procedural grounds by the Constitutional Court, deserves to be examined by the Prosecutor General in case there are elements of a criminal offense on the part of the signatories of the agreement.
